Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities

Scope :

  • This course is designed to comply with the requirements laid down in the rule VI/1 of the Convention, section A‐VI/ 1, and table VI/1‐4, of the International Convention on standards of training, certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers STCW/78 as amended.

General objectives :

  • The participant having completed the course will be able to comply with the correct procedures in different emergency situations that can occur on board a ship; take the necessary measures to prevent marine pollution; observe safe working practices; understand orders, given to understand in the activities of the ship and maintain effective human relations on board the ship.

Prerequisites :

  • Model specific income levels for training with this course are not enforced. All persons who aspire to work on board a vessel must receive this basic training before assigned those tasks on board.
